The Stonefly story began with a journey.
Or better, with a traveller.
Huntington J. P. Stone had a special charisma. Born in India in 1876 to a diplomatic family, he was sent to England to study while quite young at Cambridge. A tireless explorer, he embarked on sailing ships and steam ships, hiked sunny slopes, flew over mountains and deserts in airplanes that no one would have thought had a chance of flying. For his endeavours and courage, he was nicknamed “Stonefly”.
Inspired by this imaginary figure, in 1993 the brand Stonefly was launched. The idea of travel as a way of challenging usual habits became a key inspiring principle for the company.
